I have a background in graphic design and some light front-end development. This allows me to lean on my strengths in visual design while my understanding of the web allows me to work closely with developers to deliver the best final product.

I am a full-stack designer with experience in all parts of the design process including research and testing. However, I have a particular interest in prototyping, interaction design, and visual design. I love being able to create prototypes to more accurately convey concepts to stakeholders for buy-in of an idea. I then enjoy the process of visually refining a design to its best version based on research, data, and feedback.

Collaboration is key to any successful design project. I understand the importance of working closely with stakeholders, developers, and other designers to ensure that my designs are feasible, functional, and meet the project's goals. I welcome feedback and suggestions and strive to deliver the best possible design solutions.

My Process

  1. Understand/Empathize

The first step in my design process is fully understanding the problem to be solved. I have to be able to put myself in the shoes of the user I am designing for. You need to ask the right questions to have a full grasp on the scope of the work needed.

  1. Observe/Identify

When possible, identifying issues early via surveys or testing will reveal a lot about the problem to be solved. Observing users and their behavior is crucial to gaining important insights.

  1. Design/Iterate

Once insights have been gathered, the design work begins. This process can take several rounds to get it right. Feedback from teammates, stakeholders, and developers and more rounds of user testing are involved in this step. Often times creating interactive prototypes can properly and accurately convey your concept to others.

  1. Deliver/Collaborate

Delivering production ready, pixel perfect designs is vital. Once the work is handed off, the job is not done. I pride myself on being able to effectively work with developers to properly implement the design solutions. A working knowledge of the tech side for communication, combined with extensive experience performing Design QA, allow me to help deliver a professional end product.
